Due to the show's violent content, only twelve of the twenty-six sessions were aired during the original Japanese television run in the spring of 1998. Session XX - Mish-Mash Blues, an extra clip-episode, was created to complete the run as a full thirteen-episode season.

Following the release of Session #0, a promotional video showcasing the making of the show, the entire twenty-six-episode series was released on video.

In the late fall through the winter of 1998-99, all of the episodes aired on the WOWOW satellite station.

On September 2, 2001, the show made its American television debut on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.
